GARY SPAHN
After a successful career in banking, which included executive positions with money center banks, the presidency of a Community Bank, chairmanship of a Savings and Loan Association and a directorship in another, he refocused his career toward helping people in life transition. He spent five years in career counseling and career management and another five years in executive search in the banking industry. During that time and for over fifteen years, he has had a special concern for and has worked with people struggling through dysfunctional marriages.
As a result of his own difficult four year long divorce, Mr. Spahn developed a special affinity for the shortcomings of the judicial divorce process, which all too often lasted too long, was extremely expensive, damaged children and left bitter relationships between the divorcing couple. In an effort to minimize some of this damage, Gary Spahn has worked in his church, one of the largest and most progressive in the country, in its divorce recovery, marriage restoration and marriage enrichment ministries. He has served as a small group leader, panel discussion leader and has spoken on relevant topics such as: Suddenly Single; Starting Over; Forgiveness; Abundant Life; Boundaries; Grieving Loss; and What Men and Women Should Know About Each Other. When his church expanded into multiple campuses, he was instrumental in establishing divorce recovery and marriage enrichment ministries in its north shore facility.
Believing that for many divorcing couples, who had exhausted all chance for reconciliation, mediation was a far more desirable process than divorce litigation, he founded Spahn and Associates to lead couples through this process.
